Once upon a time, there was YOU.
YOU with big dreams, a childlike heart, and a hunger to do all that God has called you to do.
YOU with a sense of purpose and a zest for life.
YOU with multiple gifts and talents and a strong resolve to do great things and change the world, one step at a time.
YOU, though imperfect, yet resolute.
All of a sudden, YOU’VE become timid. Scared of DOING because of what OTHERS think. Hesitant to begin because of fear of failure. YOU decided to take the audience seat, being a spectator instead of being an active character in the play of your life.
All of a sudden, YOU’VE stopped dreaming. The things that made your eyes spark now leave a tinge of regret: “Had I known, I would have begun five years ago.”
“Had I known, I would have stuck with this dream even though no one was encouraging me”.
Perhaps, the people who were cheering you on left without saying goodbye. Perhaps, your mistakes and imperfections made you give up on yourself. Perhaps, you’ve been on the hamster’s wheel, trying so hard to make a ‘name’ for yourself so much that you’ve forgotten to actually ‘live’. Perhaps, you’re at wits end, not knowing what turn to take, or how to begin again.
I bring you these words of encouragement:
Better is the end of a matter than the beginning thereof (Ecclesiastes 7:8).
Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching for what’s ahead (Philippians 3:13-14) .
Life has given you a fighting chance. Your breathing is a signal of hope that you can still rise up to the occasion, and you can still let God sit on the throne of your destiny and rule it. You can begin again!
Tell someone to tell someone to tell someone that it is NOT too late! God is still in need of you!
