“Oyinkansola”!
I ran to my master, I heard Him call me. I noticed he had his bags around him like He was traveling somewhere.
“I’ll be traveling to a faraway land, but I’ll be back soon enough. However, I’ll need you to do something for me”. He reached into his backpack, brought out five shiny silver stones, and gave them to me. “I’d like you to help me trade with these. I believe you have the ability to. I’ve noticed how you lighten up when music comes on, so have one for singing. I notice you tend to get upset when you see grammatical errors in manuscripts, so have this one for proofreading and editing. I see how your emotions cringe when you see children with special needs being maltreated, so let this third silver stone help you propel that vision. I notice you come alive when you are able to tell stories through words, so here’s the silver stone to help you become an anointed writer. I also noticed how you love to help young teenage girls understand their identity. It hurts you when they live lower than they have been created to. So, have this. I’m sure you’ll do well with these stones. They cost a lot, but I trust you to be a good steward”.
I looked at the silver stones. They looked so exquisite. How could He possibly trust me with them?
“Master, this is too much”, I responded. “I’m not sure I can handle them.
He looked at me intently and I realized in that moment that I was created for this very purpose. To bring Him glory with all my abilities. To tell of Him through my hands and pen. To sing of Him through my voice. To nurture young girls based on His laws and His desires. To nurture budding authors into writing and ensure I edit their manuscripts to His glory. To be a voice for children with special needs all over the world.
I didn’t think I could do it. But if He said I could, then I could and I would. He carried his bags and left almost immediately. As I watched him walk away, he turned back to my surprise and said, ‘My grace abounds, dear daughter’.
Till now, I am trading these five silver stones as I await His return. I can’t wait to show Him all I have done with all He has given me.
You’re next? What stones have you been given to trade with? And more importantly, what are you doing with them?
